The service

Anyone can read the public dictionary. Writing definitions and voting are limited to signed-in, invited members while Wordy is in its small beta. Words move through writing, an anonymous ballot, and a result over successive days. A round can finish without a winner.

These Terms cover game participation and permission for selected winning words to appear on merchandise. The shop does not accept purchases yet. If you do not agree, do not create an account or take part.

Joining and accounts

Wordy is intended for people 13 and older. Use an account you control and a pen name that you are comfortable showing beside a winning definition. Keep access to your sign-in email or Apple account secure. Do not use multiple accounts to influence a vote or work around a suspension.

An invitation lets you participate; it does not promise that your definition will appear on a ballot or that the service will always be available. Account details are handled as described on the Privacy page.

Your contributions

Submit definitions and examples you wrote yourself and have the right to share. Keep them kind and family-friendly. Do not post someone’s private information, threats, abuse, copied text, or material that violates another person’s rights. The community rules explain how to keep the dictionary welcoming.

You can edit or withdraw your definition until its writing window closes. Approved definitions are shown without author names during voting. A published winner is credited to your pen name and can be read and shared by anyone. Individual votes are not public.

Permission to use your contributions

You keep your rights in definitions and examples you submit. When you accept these Terms, you give Wordy a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, review, edit for formatting, and display your submissions to operate and explain the game. If a definition wins, Wordy may display it with your pen name in the public dictionary and shared entry pages. You also permit Wordy to reproduce and display a selected winning definition, its example, and your pen name in product artwork, product listings, and promotion, and to make and sell those products. This permission covers submissions you have already made and those you make after accepting these Terms. You do not have to approve each product or word separately.

If your account is deleted, Wordy removes your authored definition and credit from its public entry and stops offering new products based on your writing. Orders already placed may still be fulfilled, and copies someone else made outside Wordy may remain beyond our control. The Privacy page describes what account deletion does to other records.

Fair play and moderation

Vote for a favorite using your own account. Do not vote for your own definition, manipulate the ballot, spam submissions, or try to identify or harass an anonymous contributor. You can change or clear a confirmed vote before the voting deadline. The result is decided under the game’s published rules; Wordy does not promise that any particular entry will win or be published.

Wordy may review, reject, hide, or remove content and may suspend an account to enforce the community rules or protect the service. A report asks moderators to review content; it does not automatically remove it.

Merchandise

A winning definition is not automatically made into a product. Wordy chooses which wins, if any, to use and reviews the final artwork before listing it. Wordy does not currently sell products. Author credit is the benefit for participating; Wordy does not promise payment, royalties, or free products for a win. Fourthwall is the planned seller and checkout provider. Before sales begin, its purchase terms, shipping details, and return and refund information will be available through the store and checkout.

Leaving and changes

You can stop participating at any time and delete your account from Profile. The deletion screen explains the effect on submissions, votes, saved words, and published wins before you confirm.

Wordy may change or pause features during the beta. We record the version and time when you accept these Terms. If they change materially, we will show the revised text and ask you to accept it before you participate again. Accounts that joined before this version must accept it once; no per-definition permission is required.
